Warming hearts and souls with wood-fired pizza
Wodonga Council is urging people to celebrate Harmony Day this Sunday by joining in to the first public use of the new Belvoir Park Community Wood-fired Oven.
Members of the public can bring everything they need to make their own pizzas (ingredients, pizza bases, eating utensils etc.) between 11am and 2pm to Belvoir Park, where Wodonga Apex Club will cook the pizzas.
The Belvoir Park Community Wood-fired Oven was officially opened in February – a joint effort between the Australian Government, Victorian Government, Wodonga Apex Club and Wodonga Council.
“It is when we combine funding, expertise, community ownership and commitment that we can deliver facilities that benefit the whole community,” Wodonga Mayor Cr Anna Speedie said.
“This is a fabulous community resource that will be used and enjoyed by many in the community for years to come.”
In 2017, the Belvoir Park Community Wood-fired Oven will be open on:• Sunday, March 19 - Harmony Day;• Sunday, April 16 - Easter Sunday;• Sunday, May 14 - Mother's Day;• Sunday, September 17;• Sunday, October 15; and,• Sunday, November 19.
