City of Wodonga

Wodonga is lucky to have a recreational dam in its backyard – Lake Hume.

It is the keeper of water for irrigation and haven for recreational anglers, whether by boat or on the shoreline.

Boat ramps can be found at the following locations:

  • Bowna Water, Ettamogah, Albury;
  • Ebden Reserve, Wodonga;
  • Lake Hume Resort, Albury;
  • Kookaburra Point;
  • Ludlows Reserve; and
  • The Pines.

You may catch a good Red Fin, a nice trout, yellowbelly or Murray Cod.

You will also get the odd European Carp (which is a pest and should not be thrown back).

There are several rivers near Wodonga that also make for good fishing including the Murray, Kiewa and Mitta Mitta.

Please ensure you have the correct fishing licenses by visiting the Kangaroo Store at the lake or a local fishing store.

There are no public camping grounds around Lake Hume.
