Wodonga has incredible hills.
Six hills form a ring around our city – on our west we have the Hunchback Hill Complex including Klings Hill, to the south is Federation Hill, Bears Hill and the Baranduda Range, and on the east is Huon Hill. Further out to the east is Mahers Hill, on the banks of Lake Hume.
We want to continue to protect Wodonga’s hills from encroaching development, and maintain their enormous value as a green and restful amphitheatre for those who live here and those who visit. Feedback will inform the draft Planning for the Wodonga Hills Strategy which identifies ways to open up the hills so our growing population – including many young families – can reap the many benefits of increased recreation, leisure and conservation, right on our back doorstep and aims to provide the access and infrastructure for people to get out and enjoy our hills.
It will map the legacy of the hills and the enormous potential they contain.
Accompanying the strategy are individual master plans.
Whether you use them to walk your dog, stroll or train, as a member of a keen sporting or hobby group, or you simply live alongside the hills, have your say on the future of our hills.
