We are undertaking a review of the Gateway Island Master Plan and want to hear from Wodonga and district residents about what you value and what you see as the future for the island.
In February and March, the first stage of this project provided opportunities for the community and key stakeholders to give input to the Master Plan review.
In total 323 responses were received either as online or written submissions or during attendance at the drop-in sessions.
As a result, we now present the Draft Gateway Island Master Plan and want to check with the community about the vision for the island and the recommendations in the Draft plan for each of the precincts.
Gateway Island, located on the Murray River flood plain, connects Wodonga and Albury and is used by many different community and sporting groups and individuals. For the purposes of this project the island has been divided into six precincts:
- Precinct 1 – The Village
- Precinct 2 – Diamond Park/Peninsula
- Precinct 3 – Events Area
- Precinct 4 – Active Quarry
- Precinct 5 – Grazing Area
- Precinct 6 – Lincoln Causeway
