We are undertaking a review of the Gateway Island Master Plan and want to hear from Wodonga and district residents about what you value and what you see as the future for the island.
Gateway Island, located on the Murray River flood plain, connects Wodonga and Albury and is used by many different community and sporting groups and individuals.
For the purposes of this project the island has been divided into six precincts:
- Village;
- Diamond Park;
- Events area;
- Gateway Lakes;
- Grazing land; and,
- Lincoln Causeway.
Some of the island is used for passive and active recreation, for events like markets and for commercial and tourism developments.
It also has a long and important history for Indigenous groups and early settlers and is enjoyed for its natural environment.
We would like to hear from as many people as possible on a range of aspects to help us plan for the future of the island.
If you have a connection to Gateway Island or ideas for its future, you are invited to have your say. All ideas collected during this community engagement phase will inform the Draft Gateway Island Master Plan.
