We are developing our new Council Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan for the next four years.
We want to hear from you on what you believe are the important issues facing our city, what are the needs and aspirations of the community, what is important to you and what you want the council to focus on over the next four years.
We are asking you what it looks like to live a good life in Wodonga and what’s next? We are asking you to imagine better.
What is the Council Plan?
The Council Plan is the strategic document that guides the council’s delivery of projects and services in our community for the next four years.
The Council Plan outlines objectives, strategies and actions for the council to meet the community’s goals, aspirations, including those set out in the Wodonga 2033 community vision.
While the Council Plan focuses on the council’s roles and responsibilities, it also recognises its role as an advocate and partner. The Council Plan will also consider the resources available for the implementation of the strategic objectives.
What is the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan?
The council has an important role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of people living in the community. As a council, we acknowledge that it is inherent in everything that we do and that health and wellbeing factors have a significant impact on people’s quality of life. For this reason, we will integrate the health plan into the Council Plan.
As well as talking to the community and key community organisations and stakeholders in developing this plan, we will also consider the priorities set out in the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2019-2023 including family violence prevention and response, tackling climate change and its impact on health, increasing healthy eating, increasing active living, and reducing tobacco-related harm.
