How would you like Wodonga to be in 2033?
It may be 12 years away, but Wodonga Council and the local community have been looking ahead, working together and planning for the future Wodonga for a long time.
The conversations and consultation for Wodonga 2033, a community vision document, started back in 2008.
Our community said it wanted Wodonga to be a family city with a sense of belonging and feeling of community.
A community “square” and a vibrant CBD were also on the agenda alongside high-speed broadband, flexible learning and education and employment for all.
In 2015, we revisited Wodonga 2033 and the community and 100 local leaders told us they wanted the future Wodonga to be a demonstrated leader with a genuine commitment to environmental sustainability and an inclusive city built around social, cultural, and economic sustainability and equity.
Since the community conversations in 2008 and 2015, some aspirations have been realised - such as the desire for a community “square” that has been delivered in Junction Square.
But Wodonga 2033 is still relevant and there’s still work to do.
Now, it’s time for us to check in again on Wodonga 2033 and for you to have your say as part of a scheduled review of this important document.
