During an internal review, it was identified that council did not have a formal Revenue Policy. Council’s internal auditors recommended that such a policy be developed to reduce the risk of revenue not being recorded and/or collected in accordance with approved Council procedures.
To address this recommendation, the draft Revenue Policy has been developed which outlines principles that support revenue and debt management and collection undertaken by Council.
This policy aims to ensure that Council works with ratepayers and other debtors to confirm that all services provided by Council are recorded, revenue is collected, and Council treats debtors with fairness, equity and sensitivity.
Council is now seeking community feedback on the Draft Revenue Policy.
