The playgrounds at Kinchington Estate and Leneva Views are officially open, with Stage 1 works completed in mid-march.
This marks an exciting next step in a journey that has spanned nearly two years.
Public consultation on the project commenced in November 2022 and, in the time since, a comprehensive design concept has been developed and the community listened to.
Local resident and mother Rebecca welcomes the addition of the playgrounds to the area.
“I imagine that our kids will be down there most days after school. It will give them so many opportunities to meet new kids and make lifelong friends,” she said.
“These playgrounds will become a focal point for our estate, somewhere we can come together and build our sense of community.
“I am so happy that the kids will be able to utilise playgrounds so close to home.”
For Rebecca, the playgrounds present an opportunity for her children to enjoy the outdoors.
“The basketball court is going to be a favourite for our son. My daughter will enjoy the play equipment just as much,” she said.
“It will be so nice to see kids outdoors instead of indoors and in front of screens.
“I am looking forward to seeing more kids enjoying themselves out and about in our neighbourhood.”
