Senior Celebrations is back for another year.
It's that time of year when we celebrate our senior citizens and put on fun events for them to attend.
Wodonga Senior Celebrations will feature an exciting program of activities from October 7 to 16 including, but not limited to:
- Concerts or performance piece;
- Open days
- Come and try activities; and,
- Recreational activities.
Several venues host events throughout the city for the 10-day festival and the majority of the events are free.
Wodonga Mayor Cr Anna Speedie urged senior residents to look through the program and book into any events or activities to secure their place when tickets go on sale from September 16.
“There are lots of come and try events, as well as social gatherings like the car rally and treasure hunt at The Cube Wodonga Courtyard,” she said.
“It will be great to see senior members of our community participating in new activities while socialising.”
The popular car rally and treasure hunt on Saturday, October 12 involves organising a car to complete a course, earning points for answering questions and collecting treasure on the way.
Cr Speedie said it was important to celebrate and recognise the rich contributions that older people make within our community each year.
“There are a lot of older residents who count down to this festival each year and it’s our pleasure to host this event," she said.
For those who don't drive, there's the option of a community bus service to attend the events. Operating from 9.30am to 2.30pm by gold coin donation.
