Wodonga Council has a new volunteer co-ordinator and she's excited and ready to help volunteers and organisations alike.
Romina Lougoon has stepped into the role and is looking forward to helping create connected communities in Wodonga and emphasising the value of volunteering.
Wodonga Council supports volunteers as it strengthens the links between councils and their communities, provides professional development for individuals, taps into individuals skills, experience and knowledge, and has many benefits for individuals.
"Volunteering has many positive benefits including improving health and wellbeing, connecting to the local community and it is a way of giving back," Mrs Lougoon said.
"I'm looking forward to connecting with our local volunteers, supporting and recognising as well as promoting local volunteer opportunities."
