Albury Wodonga Health will host a one-day pop-up testing clinic for COVID-19 in Wodonga on Friday 8 May. The clinic will be open at Mann Central shopping centre between 10am and 2.45pm. AWH Director of Pandemic Response Sally Squire said the clinic would provide the opportunity for ANY member of the public to voluntarily be tested for COVID-19. Any person seeking testing MUST be well and WITHOUT symptoms. Ms Squire said establishment of the pop-up testing clinic is in line with the Department of Health and Human Services’ testing blitz across Victoria, aimed at identifying any unknown occurrence of COVID-19. Anyone being tested at the pop-up clinic will be asked to complete a consent/screening form to confirm they are without symptoms. They will be asked to provide their contact details – preferably a mobile number - so they can be advised of their result. Ms Squire said any members of the public should please bring their Medicare card. “We encourage the community to continue to support the testing program to ensure we have the best possible picture of any spread of COVID-19 in the community,” Ms Squire said. Those members of the public who DO have symptoms – however mild – should seek testing with their GP or with Albury Wodonga Health on (02) 6058 4444. “Anyone who has symptoms and is seeking testing needs to have an appointment to be tested. They should call either their GP or Albury Wodonga Health on (02) 6058 4444 to discuss their symptoms and receive an appointment time,” Ms Squire said. Ms Squire said Wednesday was the busiest day to date at the AWH COVID-19 clinic with an additional 92 screens and 104 tests. The Albury Wodonga Clinic has now conducted 3104 screening calls to date. There have been 2007 patients tested. Albury Wodonga Health can confirm there are no active COVID-19 cases among those who tested positive through AWH. The final patient was cleared of the virus on Tuesday, bringing to 10 the number of patients who have recovered. There are no inpatients at Albury Wodonga Health. There have been no positive results returned to clinic testing in the past 24 hours. All patients with symptoms who are being tested for COVID-19 should home isolate until test results are available. All patients should attend an emergency department if their symptoms worsen or their condition deteriorates. For all medical emergencies call 000.
