Wodonga Council reopening some facilities

2 Jun, 2020

Wodonga Council is starting to reopen some facilities, with the public now able to return to the library and visit customer focus but public pools and community centres remain closed at this stage.

The public is reminded that physical distancing measures are in place while visiting facilities.

Bonegilla Migrant Experience will also reopen on June 6, operating for three days (Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

The reopening of the council's facilities aligns with the Victorian Government announcing the gradual easing of restrictions.

Playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment, skate and dog parks are also open for use by 10 people at a time.

It is important you practice good hygiene and maintain a 1.5 metres distance from others at all times when using the equipment.

Signage is in place at large parks to remind our community to continue to practice physical distancing.

If a playground is full, parents are advised to travel to another one nearby.

Regular cleaning of all playground equipment and other high touch surfaces will be undertaken by council staff.

When visiting the Wodonga Library, things will continue to look a little different due to the ongoing restrictions.

Borrowing will only be available through holds pick-up and a ‘click and collect’ service is in place.

The library will open from 10am to 6pm weekdays and 9am to 12pm Saturdays and everyone will be observing physical distancing.

This means there will be a limited amount of people in the space at all times and staff will record contact information via your library card or a name and phone number.

Due dates have been extended and the returns chute is open 24/7.
