Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the impacts of COVID-19, Wodonga Council has made the decision to cancel major events for the remainder of this calendar year.
This includes Wodonga’s Senior Celebrations, Wodonga Children's Fair, Fridays on My Mind and the Red Carpet Youth Awards gala dinner.
The Cube Wodonga season program has had several shows rescheduled to later dates.
The cross-border festival Upstream, which attracted more than 16,000 people over the four days of the inaugural event, will proceed in March 2021 as restrictions allow, with staff beginning planning for next year’s festival.
Our signature events involve months of planning and the council is having to make decisions now in the present but uncertain environment.
As part of the preparation of the budget for 2020-2021, these funds have been redirected to provide for relief measures for the general community as we look towards the recovery phase from the pandemic.
At this point in time, all programs and activities at our venues remain suspended and venues remain closed in line with state restrictions. This will be reviewed as these restrictions change.
The council understands the importance and value our community place on the connection and enjoyment on our events and programs. The council is reviewing and assessing ways in which to continue to engage our community now and through the recovery.
These are difficult and challenging times and the council is committed to supporting our community and businesses.
