The pump track at Birallee Precinct is located in the south-west corner of the park and was opened to the public on March 20, 2020.The facility has increased and enhanced the informal recreational opportunities available in the precinct.
The first stage of the pump track has had incredibly high usage from bikes, skate boarders and scooter riders of all ages and abilities. It is one of several high quality pump tracks in the region, with many riders from the North East and surrounding municipalities becoming regular visitors of the track.
Consultation for the Birallee Park pump track was undertaken with the key stakeholders and broader community in January 2020.
The original track design presented was selected from three options with the second stage track proposed to be a mirror of the first.
This expansion will complete the track and allow for much greater usage.
The two tracks side by side will naturally separate the beginners from the more experienced riders. It will also provide the opportunity for racing type activities and events, as well as provide a pathway for young riders in the area to move into the local BMX or mountain bike clubs.
The project is funded through the Australian Government’s Local Road and Community infrastructure Fund.
