Under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Wodonga Council is required to prepare a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan every four years or include strategies to promote public health and wellbeing and address environmental health dangers into the overall Council Plan.
Recognising the inherent role health and wellbeing has in all that council does, Wodonga Council has chosen to integrate our Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan into the Council Plan for the third time. Having an integrated plan ensures a high-level engagement and commitment across all council departments and drives collaborative action for improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Wodonga Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan addresses health and wellbeing priorities for the community and takes in to account certain population groups that experience poorer health and outcomes. The priority areas for the next four years are:
