UPDATE - change in venue
Due to a forecast of rain on Friday, the difficult decision has been made to move the Australia Day celebrations to The Cube Wodonga.
On Friday, 52 people are set to take their oath and become Australian citizens. It is our priority to facilitate this exciting step in their journey, as well as to celebrate our Australia Day award recipients.
Junction Square’s outdoor setting made it an unsuitable venue given the forecast and we are fortunate to have access to a fantastic alternate venue in The Cube Wodonga
There are no expected changes to the morning’s festivities – there will still be a free barbecue breakfast from 7am, live music and entertainment for the children.
We look forward to celebrating the day with our community.
Wodonga Council will celebrate Australia Day with our new citizens and award winners in a ceremony at Junction Square.
Enjoy a free BBQ breakfast, live music from Nathan Vaccaro, Wodonga Brass and Sing Australia. There will be free Australian flag hand wavers and temporary tattoos to help you get into the spirit! Keep the kids entertained with facepainting, a petting zoo and craft station.
7am to 8.30am - Free BBQ breakfast and morning tea to be served
7am to 7.55am - Wodonga Brass Band and Sing Australia to perform, stalls to operate
8.30am - Proceedings to commence
9.10am - Australia Day Awards presented, followed by the citizenship ceremony
9.30am - Ceremony to close
9.30am to 10am - Tea to be served
9.30am to 10.30am - Live music and entertainment
