Have you seen the jolly jumpers?

4 Dec, 2023

High St Wodonga’s furry and feathered friends are helping spread some festive fun with their bright and playful attire.

Keen crocheter and owner of That Little Place, Jedda Hindmarsh spent several weeks creating the Christmas jumpers for Wodonga’s six bronze animal statues.

Jedda had been back and forth taking measurements during November and returned to High St today to dress the kookaburras, wombats and echidnas.

“They are certainly turning heads and people have been stopping to take photos with them,” Jedda said.

“It’s another reason to get down to High St and shop local this Christmas.”

Jedda partnered with Wodonga Council to carry out the public art installation that will remain for the month.

“I have used Christmas colours and added sparkle with the silver, which I am hoping will catch the sunlight while people walk around,” she said.

Jedda is encouraging people to enjoy the creations and look with their eyes and not their hands when they take in the visual feast.

Pedestrians are encouraged to get up close and have a look for the piece of Christmas Holly stitched onto each jumper.
