Let’s get physical!

It’s May, which means it’s time to get active in our Move in May initiative.

Move in May is a fun way to get active stay healthy and enjoy the great recreational offerings of our city.

Whether you want to jump on your bike for a ride along our tracks and trails, work out at one of our outdoor exercise stations or simply enjoy a brisk walk with friends, is up to you.

By choosing the exercise that’s right for you, you’ll feel better, more energised and socially engaged. It’s literally your move!

Wodonga Council’s Sport and Recreation Officer, Stephanie Holumbiyeksa, said the initiative would help to create a healthier, happier community for people of all fitness levels.

“We’re encouraging people to get out and about and work on their own fitness goals and with lots of free and low-cost activities this year, we’re hoping lots of people will join in,” she said.

“Obviously, becoming more active is great for our physical health but it also brings benefits to mental health and can help us to become more socially engaged with our community.

“This year we’re thrilled to have a lot of organisations taking part and offering activities of all sorts, so this May is definitely the time to get moving!”
